The smoked brisket pho is a bit below average for a pho bowl. Think I would past on it next time, don't like the smoked flavor brings anything. In a sense it distracts from a rich bowl of pho broth. The stand out is the side beef bone which was tender and full of flavor. Service is good, ambiance is a bit more modern than that of other pho joints.

10/10, one of the best pho places I've ever tried. They specialize in different combinations of pho, such as smoked brisket, fatty brisket, rare steak, tendon, and meatball. I loved getting the dac Biet with fresh noodles!! So tender, filling, and I enjoyed every sip. Spring rolls are also very generous here. The service also were so nice, they tried their best to accommodate an outside table to let our dogs come in. Otherwise, can be busy, but usually the food comes out quickly.

This is such a cute place! The broth and noodles were delicious! Definitely coming here again! I had the pho San Jose and spring rolls. The waiter was super nice! I was going to order a blue moon but thankfully he informed me that they just put it in the fridge and wasn't cold so I chose a different drink. The serving of the soup was just enough to make me full.

Heard good things about this spot and finally gave it a try! Dined in at lunch time on a Sunday afternoon. It was busy but we got lucky with an open table (there's indoor and outdoor seating available). I ordered the pho with beef balls, rare streak, and tripe (variety bowl, select 3 items of your choice). If you only want two items, they'll give you the same portion as if you chose three. Generous portions but taste wise, broth was just okay. We also ordered the egg rolls. It came much later into our meal. It was busy, so we understand they have a lot of orders to fulfill. I was disappointed by the egg rolls, as the filling was bland. It does come with dipping sauce on the side but I expected the egg roll to have some flavor on its own. Workers are constantly on the go when it's busy, so appreciate their attentiveness. Decent sized spot and well lit inside. I like their pho San Jose sign decor on the wall. Located in a plaza right by tastea and mcd's. Parking shouldn't be bad!

I would rank this place as one of my top 5 pho places and my 2nd favorite as of right now in the Bay area. I saw the reviews mentioning poor service so I was prepared. But, I was pleasantly surprised that we received pretty attentive service from a younger server. I ordered the hu tieu with wide noodles and the BF ordered the Texas pho. The pho broth was flavorful and smokey from smoked brisket, it was definitely enjoyable without any of the fixings. You can tell they used a lot of bones to make this broth. The hu tieu I made sure to order the egg more runny and the server chuckled and said that's how it should come out but he understands that the kitchen sometimes doesn't deliver. The hu tieu portion was pretty generous and I liked how I was able to request a wider noodle. Everything was flavorful and it hit the spot. I'm a happy camper and I'll be back. Highly recommend for something different if you're sick of pho Hanoi.

Pho San Jose impressed on a Sunday morning! Food: We ordered PSJ pho and bun reu. First of all, both broths are so flavorful! PSJ pho was known for their beef briskets. I've never been to a place that gives generous portion of thick cut briskets. Pho San Jose makes their fresh noodles everyday and don't keep them overnight. The noodles were just so soft. Bun reu was full of crab meats. It was so served with shrimp paste on the side. But the broth was rich in flavors that we didn't even need the shrimp paste. Customer Service: Kevin, our server, was friendly and patient, offering great recommendations for first-timers in San Jose. Ambiance: The clean, comfortable restaurant features chic and modern touches, like a cute fake grass wall. A pleasant spot for enjoying delicious pho.

Came to Pho San Jose for a late lunch around 1:30pm on a Friday, and though these was seating there were still more patrons than I would have expected at the time. The inside is very well decorated with a pretty high ceiling and open space, with plenty of tables. -Pho San Jose: I opted for the small, which was definitely the right choice, because I still ended up not being able to finish the noodles or broth. This broth was warming and rich; you could taste the umami and spices, and it had an almost slightly velvety mouthfeel. The rib meat was very tender and there was also a good amount of meat overall. I loved the generous amount of shredded green onion, and the very fresh mountain of bean sprouts provided on the side. PSJ has some great pho for a very reasonable price; I would definitely recommend and can't wait for the next day that the weather is just perfect for a bowl of pho.

Their broth is delicious, and the portion of meat and noodles are generous enough for the price. (Although I do remember when a big bowl of pho was more like $6/7!). Service is friendly, expect them to be ready to take your order pretty quickly after you're seated, and do look for your table number before you get up to pay at the counter. This place gets packed during the meal rush, but it seems like they turn over tables quickly as well. Make sure to put your name down on the clipboard when you arrive! There is a small outdoor patio area with a few tables with umbrellas and a big heater which looks like they would roll out whenever needed.

Been here twice now and have confirmed this spot to be my favorite pho joint in San Jose so far. I think it's even better than the famous Pho Ha Noi! Tried both the Pho San Jose and PSJ Smoked Brisket Pho, along with the passion fruit sugar cane and lychee iced tea. Everything is so well prepared, comforting, and delicious. The meat in the pho is super tender and soft, not overcooked and dry which I find many other spots to be. They also are generous with the amount of meat they give, and the broth is super richly infused with seasonings, herbs, and meat juices. The PSJ smoked brisket pho is a must try: so smoky and unique. The lychee iced tea and sugar cane drinks are super refreshing & made with real fruit too! Service is pretty good depending on the person serving you. Always love the decorations which seem to change by season/holiday. Amazing pho spot overall and where I tell people to go when they want good pho.
